Giovanni Vale from Extinguished Countries at N1 Television

We’ve been invited to talk about the Habsburg Empire’s legacy and the Extinguished Countries project at the Croatian branch of N1 television. N1 is a regional 24-hour news channel, as well as CNN International’s local broadcast partner and affiliate. It has branches in Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, and it is available in all former Yugoslavia.

Giovanni Vale was born in Gemona del Friuli (Italy) in 1987. He graduated in International and Diplomatic Sciences from the University of Trieste, studied Arabic in Morocco and France, and began working as a journalist in Paris before moving to Zagreb in 2014. Since then, he has been covering the former Yugoslavia for various European media outlets such as RSI, La Croix and OBCT. He founded Extinguished Countries in 2020.
